2007 Funnel Cloud Over BethelDuring the late afternoon hours on Monday, August 20, 2007, widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms developed near the western coast of Alaska in response to a low pressure system located over Bristol Bay. One of these thunderstorms produced a rope-like funnel cloud near the town of Bethel. This funnel cloud never touched the ground and thus did not become a tornado.
