About

PUFF is an ash tracking model used by various agencies to assess volcanic ash hazard. The model was developed to simulate the movement of airborne ash using forecast wind data sets. PUFF tracks particles through a Lagrangian formulation of advection, fallout and turbulent dispersion through a random-walk technique.
